Portage, Utah - Coastal Fiddleneck and Diffuse Knapweed
Several miles west of Portage, Utah, in Box Elder County, the rangeland is being invaded by coastal fiddleneck and diffuse knapweed. Landowners in the area are concerned about reduced grazing capacity and damage to wildlife.
Partners from all five counties were on hand to help control destructive noxious and invading weeds. The terrain was mixed steep hillsides to flat areas. ATV's were the best equipment to be able to get to the areas and spray in and around corals and sagebrush .
